I need suggestions for banner

Hey,

I have been advised to move the adsense banner which is on the column of my site, http://www.electroniclovers.com and move it to the header. What size do you think I should have? And should it be text or image? Or both?

I think that square ad above the first post would work better as a horizontal banner.
