Ok I know affiliate marketing can make you a lot of money if you do it right...I'm new to this and would really like some tips so I can kinda know what I am doing. I read that PPC is the best form of advertising? Does bidding lowest do anygood? Or what are the benefits with google and bidding higher for your offer? Are higher paying offers better? like a $40 offer...that would cover more clicks on a ppc campaign than would a $2 offer right? Landing Pages....I have good artistic abilities, so logo work stuff like that is on my side, do I buy a domain unique for that offer? or make a site like...offer.something.com? ****Or does linking directly to the offer work best? thats just a few questions, I'll probably have more as I think of them. Any advice is appreciated, Garrett
Hiya, Just a few thoughts from my experience. There are two schools of thought about bidding. One long-tail bidding, where you bid on several thousand keywords. Two, high impression bidding, where you bid on a few keywords that have many impressions in day. When you go with route 1 you bid the lowest possible figure. This is possible as long tail keywords generally have less competition and you can be on page one for as little as 10 cents. Of course they have fewer impressions per day. This is why you need several thousand keywords so that your campaign can get decent impressions. With route 2 the competition is stiff and you have to bid high to get on page one. The advantage is that if you have a good ad and landing page you can get quite a good number of conversions. With both methods what matters is your cost per lead/sale. You can be getting 10 leads a day paying $40 but each lead is costing you $41 in which case you are losing money. Lower paying offers are not necessarily bad. You can have a payout of $2 and each leads is costing you $0.20 in which case you have a great campaign. The point is, always endeavor to get leads at the lowest possible bid. One way of knowing what range to start bidding at is to ask your affiliate manager the network average of the eCPC of the offer you want to run. Once you have it set your initial bid at about 1/3 and take it from there. If you can’t make a good landing page there are several people in this forum that do them for between $40 and $100. Or you can pm me for some help. Domains don’t cost much $4 -$7. Avoid going the route of offer.something.com . Get a domain with at least one keyword in it. Last tip, if you are an absolute beginner in PPC marketing, start with Yahoo not Google. Adwords can be really punishing if you don’t know what you are doing. Again these are just my general findings in my experience not gospel truth.
wow ok that all made much sense to me, I'll be looking into ecpc and such...I noticed that my affiliate manager on azoogleads is no longer showing in my profile...it's a blank picture..
You need to contact Az and tell them to assign you a new AM. When they shuffle their AMs around it isn't uncommon for a few people to accidentally be left without one cheers and good luck
