I Have just opend my new blogger template site. Most of the content is now uploaded about 60 templates (Took Me A Day) I now need to upload the remaining 140 which will be done in the next 2 days. Now where I Need some help is that Im dreadfull at Search Engine Optimization. I Have picked up some of the aspects of it on this forum but cant seem to grasp it. I need someone to come on my site and do what ever you have to do to get it in the top 3 search results for, 'blogger templates' This search term will be the primary source of traffic.I Realise this will take a bit of work, but if my site doesnt rank there then really theres no point in the site. So If theres and seo wizards on here that have got some free time and are willling to do a bit of free work for me then please post on here or hit me with a pm. Thanks Hydro John
Well theres over 12,500,000+ competing sites for that keyword phrase, you have a budget of zero, your expecting to get placed in the top three, and you want the SEO work done for free??? Yeah good luck with that.
For 12,500,000 Sites competing for it, How much work would it take to get in the top 100 searches for that?
An awful lot! The best way to get ranked high for a phrase is to right good content on that topic. However, the nature of your site and the competition it faces is going to make it difficult. I suggest that you make your site as useful as possible and then hopefully, people will link back to it and your SERPs will go up.
So Just keep adding templates etc.. But I have only got 200 templates, that will make me one of the biggest blogger templates site, then what.... I cant add anymore, so I just have to wait?
This is why I need someone to help me with the seo! Im Sure that in 1 week of good seo This site could be in the top 100 results!
Sorry buddy. Its going to take much longer then that. If you got a couple of free templates that will blow peoples minds away, you got a chance... but not within a week. If you can work your a** off, maybe in a year or two. It's not about how many templates you have. Having a great selection is a good start, but it's about getting people to link to you. If you can push out a really b***en template and get it on the front page of Digg. Then yeah your going to get traffic and some nice back links. You also need to do some more work on your own site. The navigation is a bit confusing and you could add a couple paragraph descriptions to each template. That will help you with the content issues. And get rid of the dates in your URLs! Use descriptive categories instead. Here's an example: my-template-site.com/blogger/funny/girly/snow-angle-template.php Next, get ride of your stats, archives, and tutorials crap. Its not helping because theres nothing there. If you don't need it, get rid of it. You can always add those later. And take down that No. 1 Blogger site logo. That's just bugging me. I actually wouldn't upload all 200 at once. Instead do 20, 40, or 60ish, then every few days upload more. It adds fresh content and gets people (and google) to return more often. If you can, instead of a bunch of tutorials, create a video instructions on how to upload the template. Add your keywords to the video. Google loves videos right now. Your #1 goal needs to be exposure, not serps rankings. Ever seen the video 1 cup 2 girls? That kind f*** different and any site is still hosting that video is getting some pretty nice traffic. Can you get people talking about your site? Do you have that killer design? If you do... then yeah I'll help you. I'll help anyone for free on the forums, but to do the work... I better get something in return. And if your site can really get #1 for that term, then yeah I'll do the work just for a % of the link backs & exposure.
Ok So Ill add 40 templates each day, Try to add descriptions of the templates, change my logo, and now remove the dates in my urls, Then can you help me acheive rank 1?
No. The keyword here is "quality backlinks". http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backlink In short, a backlink to your site counts as a vote of support. If there’s no quality backlinks, there’s no support.
with 12 million results, thats going to be one hell of an SEO to help you out, and considering your wanting it done free, i doubt anyone will step up to the challenge. your asking for a -lot- of work for free first off, and your search term is HIGHLY saturated. your best bet is to do daily updates (give some information, review templates, whatever it takes, just keep your site updating) and find template forums, submit your site to search engines, make a blog if you have the time start getting your site out there hardcore. and i stress: your asking for someone to do SEO work for your site, that alone is nearly -never- free unless u have a buddy, u can get tips here, but its rare to find someone willing to DO IT FOR YOU for free, most of us believe in the old "teach a man to fish" line. and a WEEK of SEO to get on top 3? thats not going to happen unless your rubbing a magic lamp. SEO takes time and dedication, and rarely is done in as little as a week, especially to get past 12 million results. good luck though
12mill is the number of results for blogger templates not the actual competition for that keyword phrase. The actual competition is a lot less than than 12 million. It's going to take time to get in the top 10 which is where your goal should be for now. How fast you get there all depends on your link building abilities and how well your competition is "dug in" in the top rankings. I can tell you right off the bat the top 3 results have an edge on you just because they have the keywords "blogger templates" in their domain name. You need to start building backlinks using the anchor text you want to rank for and give it time.
Iagree with the link building aspect. For a site that has that much competition, quality long term link building is going to help separate you from the pack.
i suggest you to change keyword. try looking for more spesific but still related to blog templates... or maybe you not just offer ready-to-use templates, you can also post tutorials, so you can add "templates tutorials" as your 2nd keyword. its better way to go...
google your keywords and see how many results there are, and how many are above you. i think you need to read through the posts in this forum (also google for SEO tips) becuase you dont seem to know what ur doing based on that question... i dont even own a website and im able to answer your questions, so i think you need to bone up some
Nothing is for free man in this worl especialy SEO That competition ain't easy you have to invest some real money ... Regards
