I currently run a games website. When I bought the site in Oct 06 the no of visitors to the site was really good.

I need an EXPERT who can help develop the site, like change content and put new games on. Also I need someone to come up with a brilliant marketing plan.

Before you start throwing money at a solution, have you tried free methods of advertising? Signing up to forums, posting good content, but having your site link in your signature?

Also:

Directory submission
Optimising your web pages
Affiliation/Trading Links with websites

Yeah those are basic thing before you look for marketing your site, in addition also you can create a blog and do social media optimization of your site.

I agree with everyone, content is the king.

 

If you have a good game site, great way to get more people on is StumbleUpon.com - Become an active user and give a thumbs up to your page, you will drive some traffic to your page. If it is good - others will start to reccomend your site and it will catch on. There is over 2.5 Million people who use the toolbar and it is growing.

 

before you launch the marketing plan, you need to analyse your site and your visitors first. See who are they, where are they from, how old are they，what are they interested the most, and so on. so you can plan/decide which is the best method to do the marketing. orelse it will just like throw money down the drain. Also tell us the budget. we might can recommend you something worth the money. ^^

If this is an arcade site, then I fully recommend that you get a couple of custom games. If you can pay someone for a marketing plan, then that's the way to go instead. That is easily one of the ways your sites can be known, especially if you allow people to embed it onto their pages (Myspace).

Then again, if you don't want your site to be huge and you're only looking for stable traffic, then you could try out plugs and sponsorships on different sites that relate. Myspace resource sites are a good source of traffic for arcades, especially if you're targetting a keyword relating to something like "Myspace Games".

 

1) Learn marketing - could be one of the best "investments" you can do. Buy some marketing products and read some books. Here's on thread you might want to check out.

2) Use contests and interviews to get more traffic

3) Try different monetization ways (anything from direct ad selling to text link selling... you name it) to reach the maximum potential.

4) If you don't have time to develop the site... then perhaps simply try to grow it a bit and sell it again?

 

You will be far better off in the long run if you just suffer through learning it yourself.
