I need someone to handle my online presence

My name is Jared Gravatt. I operate a small business called Study 4 Success. This was started as a school project under the Young Enterprise Scheme.

We sell an audio CD of music to aid in study as well as a booklet of study related advice.

Because I am quite a novice when it comes to online marketing, design, SEO etc I was thinking of trying to find someone to handle all this for me. Because i have very little money up front I was looking to pay them on a commission basis.

I need your advice as to whether this is a good idea as well as who/where I should ask for these services.

    All answers are welcome

commission basis is not a good idea because most professional designer developer and seo guaranteed that they are going to do a good job promoting developing and designing your site, it is unfair if they work and earn nothing right? i am sure that there are some that cost less i know a company send me a pm if your interested.

Go to AdBrite.com and find the most relevant websites to your product. Some sites are willing to sell their advertising for as little as $.01 a click which is excellent.

Thanks for the Adbrite Link. That seems like a very promising lead.

Unfortunately because this is in essence still a student based company we don't have a big enough budget to hire a company. But if they do their job properly and mix it up a bit with some adwords advertising they should be guaranteed a fairly decent income

Hi Jared .... heed the good advice offered, here. I'd say start adding 10 back links, a day, from any and all sources you. Many posters offer lists of directories that take free submissions. Post often, on DP, and elsewhere, too. Make sure you have a sig, e-mail and other stuff that brings visitors to your site. Most of all, Jared, make sure you product is tops, you're site is clean and easy to navigate, and be patience. In 6-8 months, you'll start to see the results. If you've a budget of $12,000, we can probably work something out so you'll massive results before Santa arrives -- true, but humorous in this context. Hope this helps. Keep DP posted on how you're doing.Good luck.

    Hi There.

At the moment I do have a website. It's fairly basic as I built it and don't really have a lot of creative flare in me. The site is study4success.co.nz.

Anyway heres a bit more about me and my business:

I am currently sitting my final year at secondary school in New Zealand. Where I'm from they run a programme called the Young Enterprise Scheme where young people (students) are encouraged to run their own business. Our business made an audio CD of baroque music which is proven to help you learn. Our business won our regional competition and went to compete nationally where we also did very well.

Since then we have been sellected for another programme called the Young Entrepreneur Programme (YEP) where Enterprise New Zealand basically help us out a bit more and provide mentors etc. We have also had a Booklet written by Stuart Wright (ucando.co.nz.) and have spent the rest of our money getting the new product printed approx 1000 in total.

So as you can see the reason I really would like someone on a commission basis is because we don't have much money left and also cant afford to risk that much at the moment.

I look forward to reading your posts. I will keep you updated as to our progress.

P.S I would love to hear ways that you think we can improve our business

Not many will work for commish. I don't. But I do take montly payments for the ones who don't have much money.

But I don't think you really need to hire anyone. Read the following whenever you get the time. It's how the big sites became big, and it is what I mainly do for my customers who either are too lazy :D or they don't have the time.

    Best of luck to ya.

    Thanks Perry Rose.

I appreciate all the help/advice I can get.

There have been a few people interested in operating on a commission basis, so I am super excited about that

If I made the site for you, marketed the product for you, managed the site for you, I'd expect 100% of the income. Not a penny less.
