I need some traffic...

I have a new Google custom search engine that I need to promote: http://www.wattoogle.com/

I don't care how it's promoted, I just need traffic, and regulars to use this for their Googling. I'm thinking:

Social bookmarking, or social pages such as Facebook?
    Directories?

Anyway, I need to get this started, and have about $100 to start. Any suggestions? Thanks!

With 100$ I don't know, try to find 2 or 3 popular environmental blogs and make a deal with them.
Also make sure that you have a link on your site that says "use wattgoogle as your homepage". and use a javascript to put your url in their bookmark and browser homepage: ie. make it very easy to do what you want users to do.

You said you don't care how your site get traffic right?
Why don't you try to go for free first. If those didn't
work then you go for PPC. Just a thought.

You have to think, who would use your site instead of google.com as their homepage? To save energy? Well, to find that kind of people, you'll have to be very targeted, because I don't know a lot of them!!

And by the way you should explain on your site why to use yours, about the energy/money savings, etc. Or have environmental bloggers do a paid review about your site to explain to their readers why yours is better than using google as the homepage.

You can probably gain some links with that idea.

No doubt you got some inspiration from this original article http://ecoiron.blogspot.com/2007/01/black-google-would-save-3000-megawatts.html

How about this... Use the link: command in Google to find any site that linked to that article. Approach them and tell them about your site and why youve set it up. If they wrote about the original article they might be inclined to also write about your site.

    Good Luck

Trade and/or buy Stumbles on Stumbleupon. Cheap way to get traffic.
buyhitscheap.com and other sites like this one, take your money and send you hitbots, dont waste your time.

I agree, I think more hard work would be better than throwing 100 bucks away on promoting your site. Maybe spend it on Red Bull, and go to town a couple nights!

why waste money. try free advertising first. from the free traffic analyze it whether you got any action on your page or people would just turn away from the darkness of unknown.
