    Hi,
This is my first post here so I hope it's in the right place. I need some advice on a blog and have been told this is probably the best forum to get knowledable feedback. My situation is as follows:
Two months ago I started writing a humerous daily blog diary (loosely centered around Online poker) really as nothing more than something to give my friends a laugh. I haven't advertised it anywhere, have done no marketing and just carried on writing it every day. I expected maybe a couple of hundred hits per week but it seems word of mouth has taken it to the next level. I'm currently getting about 10,000 hits a week and that figure is growing at an alarming rate. I have no idea how this ranks for a new blog but I'm assuming its probably quite low, however, at this growth rate it won't be long before it gets up to six figures a week. I suspect this is probably a decent number for a popular blog. However, this could present all sorts of problems with the free site I use to post my daily entries in both space and bandwidth. A friend of mine suggested when it gets a higher amount of hits it might have commercial possibilities but I'm not entirely sure he wasn't being funny or ironic. Can you guys give me some idea what a normal amount of hits would be for such a site and what steps I might need to take to ensure people are still able to access it if the traffic carries on increasing. Also when it reaches a realistic visitor number, how would I go about making it a source of income (I realise it will probably amount to only a few bucks a week but it might pay for itself).
I haven't posted the site address as I wasn't sure if it's allowed in this forum but I'm happy to do so if it's within the rules.
I hope this thread is posted in the correct place but I'm sure someone will move it to the right one if it's not.
Many thanks in advance for any help you might be able to offer.
    Pete

Google Adsense does not allow you to put their ads on gambling websites. Online poker rooms pay affiliates very well (around $75 per sign-up) if people sign up using your affiliate links/banners.
