Damn! Nice picture there! 1. Take that down and have them click to get to it. Brother, that is one disgusting picture. lol Have before and after pictures. Replace that picture of, maybe, a healthy looking couple smiling at one another, or whatever. 2. Replace the words "what's in your colon" with something they can relate to. Something like: "How People Like You Have Beaten Cancer." "How People Like You Have a More Radiant Glow to Their Skin." Then down below talk about one of the ways is to clean the colon. Then direct them to your articles. Don't talk about the colon but how a person can be healtheir and look better by having a clean colon. 3. You may want to consider getting rid of the yellow stars. 4. Take those top links and move them down below, where their eyes will be at. They scroll down as they read, so doesn't it make sense to have those links waiting for them? Have thumbail pics and the start of the articles to better your click through rate. 5. Get rid of "Colon cleansers can help..." section. You are selling too fast! That's my two cents.
I'm with Perry on this one. I enjoy a good shock value every now and then, but take down those pictures. They are absolutely awful and the main picture is basically your focal point. People are going to see that first and click away very fast, without seeing what you have to say.
I have a nice java script that you could use when you click it it opens up in the website not a popup or to another page. as seen here. Half way down the page below the ads I didn't want to have them on the page because it's just gross but they needed to be in the site. Kinda the same thing with you. pm me if you like and ill find it for you.
That was like getting goatse'd. You definitely need to remove that picture... and if you decide to even put a link to it, make sure to label it as NSFW. Remember, most people do there shopping online from work and if a pic like that pops up, they will instantly click away... and probably be pissed as well. I predict a 0% conversion ratio if you don't change it.
I have to agree with the other Posters as far as that MAIN pic... Granted it gets a point across on WHY colon cleaning is important, however the picture itself DOMINATES the text area... All people see is that Pic (not the text) in the first 3-6 seconds, until they readjust their eyes & let the shock subsides... Remember you Only have the 1st 3-6 seconds to make a first & lasting impression on a potential consumer, Otherwise they may be Lost forever...
I ran short of time earlier but wanted to say a bit more...your niche is a serious subject. I think that a question in the beginning like are you aware of what your colon may look like? with a link to the pic would be more effective. A question will generate curiosity...then place a comparative picture with original so people really get the point that the original pic is a good rendition of a bad colon. Justifies the purpose of a nasty picture. I would place some adsense on there too. Obvious purpose is additional revenue but also shows more sources of the subject. Most people recognize adsense these days and if they see multiple sources of information an unhealthy situation that could affect them then they should be more apt to read on. Lastly, some may disagree but the site is too narrow...I immediately thought it was a typical sales page for an ebook or something...that was a millisecond before picture slapped me of course.
