I need some advice/suggestions. Do you understand what this site does?

Hi all!

I started http://www.namemynumber.com some days ago.
I acctualy don't want to describe here what is does, at least not yet...


You see, my problem is that 80% of all the people that I have shown the page to, don't get what it does.
I want people to understand the consept of the "service" just by reading one or two lines of text.
I appearantly have not been able to do that with my current description.

I really hope some of you can have a look at it and see if you understand what it does. It's the "PimpIt" - Pimp my number feature on the front page.

Do you have any suggestions of how I can describe what this does in one or two "catchy" lines?

Frankly, I really don't quite understand what your site is providing.

 

Actually i did had fun with your site!
cool feature there, but i think you should discard results with only 1 or 2 char in it

Add an example line might help (instead of using (Like: Just call "555-fastcar", or "0800-8ball"))

I used the tool on the site but I don't understand it? I don't understand the purpose behind it?

I think that is a fun "time-waster" and should draw some visitors. Maybe I'll ask you for a link soon! Nice design, too.

Yes I think an example may help alwell.
But I'm not sure it enough.
Any "one-line'r" suggestions ?

 

This is a very unique idea for a site. The text should say something like "what does your phone number spell" or " See if your phone number spell any cool words" you get the idea. Personally I think you should change all the numbers even it it does'nt spell and words. Keep working on it I can see great things for this site.

By the way, if you try the "PimpIt" function, the result list contains a hyperlink which enables "drilldown" of search results.

As matey above said get rid of the 2 or even 3 letter ones and make it available for different languages. Link Swedish, German, UK (which dont display correctly)
Other than that cool little tool dude, redditers would prolly love it
