Hi all, I need some advice and hope guys with knowledge on selling web sites can help me. I have a selection of sites I'm thinking of selling, in total the 30 or so sites in the same niche generate $6,000 per month, and have done every month for the last year. I have many of the sites in position 1 on Google for high competitive keywords. The on-page SEO is as perfect as I can make it. The traffic is targeted and converts well. I have another web based project I believe can make me more money, but does require a big investment which is the reason I'm thinking of selling. My question is, what are these sites worth? I'd really appreciate any helpful replies. Chris
Typically 10 months earnings is what a decent site will sell for. Why dont you post the URL's and someone can give a better idea of it.
Dont sell off your current websites.Try and promote them to reach the investment you need. I have seen many people selling their current business to start a new one and finally lose everything. I am not discouraging you but just reminding you that "A bird in hand is worth two in the bush". Good luck
tandy, a "niche" is a specific field or a subject. For example your recent thread shows that you wanna make a site in "car" or "car repairing" niche .
Impossible to come to a figure like that without urls, history of earnings, details of what topics the sites are in, and a million other factors!
problem will be is #1 How will you pay bills while new venture is set up #2 And what if your buyers don't pay you immendiately
The sites are in the Adult niche. I don't really want to give the domains here (as they are adult) I love this quote: "A bird in hand is worth two in the bush" Still pondering what to do, maybe I'll just look at other ways to get investment!
If the profit is stable which you've mentioned then I'm thinking around $70,000. It would really be hard to sell it though, because you would have to provide a solid reason why. $6000 a month is extremely good money so there isn't much excusses that people will believe with that monthly income. You did mention that you are running some other ride that you want to dedicate yourself to, but if $6000 isn't enough to dedicate yourself then I can't believe you myself.
gravetzt - Why should $6,000 be enough? Some people target earning enough to cover their food, myself and many others are greedy and want more than that. I t would be very easy to sell the sites, as I have proof of earnings via a big branded company. I was just asking for people's opinions on what they thought the sites were worth! I'm seriously thinking that it'll be a better option to gain investment at this stage... my next question is: Where is a good place to gain investment for a web based business? I have the business plan, cash flow charts, limited company, office and staff ready! I just need a $25,000 cash injection to kick it off! Any help and advice is much appreciated!
If you make $6k a month and only need $25k, my advice would be to save it up, or take a bank loan. You don't want to go down the route of giving up a share of the new venture in return for start up money. You should hopefully be able to get a bank loan with those earnings.
