Thanks for letting me know about the dreamhost code stuff. And techblog, I have read quite alot of threads in this forum mentioning that getting PR5 is easy on wordpress blog. In some thread I have also read the reason of why it is so, the reason is when we host a wordpress blog and if you will check the backlinks of those wordpress blogs so you will know the reason. Majority of thier backlinks are from wordpress.com/.... related. Need some expert advice on this one.
that makes no sense mate. Using default wordpress blogging software is no advantage over blogger. People just say it's easy with wordpress because a lot of people use wordpress. If blogger's so bad why do people who know what they are doing make heaps? Someone can have the worst site in the world and get pagerank 6
this whole thread looks like it's moving around in a circle. he asks a question, everyone gives an answer and he asks the same thing again (ref: domain reg). gadsense: did you do any of your own research? i could google 'domain name registration" read a number of reviews in 10 mins and take action immediately. for a seo consultant, you dont know how to point your domain to your hosting? gee...
I agree with andreww that being an SEO I should know these things and that is the reason I am here to start learning these basic things as soon as possible. The reason I don't know these things is I have been doing job in an SEO company, I still do that job. My job is to do keyword analysis, on page optimization and off page optimization. So I am kinda disconnected. I hope you got my point andreww
I completely and wholeheartedly disagree with this statement. If you are in a position to buy your own domain and host your own blog, do so without hesitation. The SEO aspects alone make it worth it. I am not saying that you cannot make money on a Blogspot blog. I am, however, saying that it is more difficult to do so as compared to using a your own domain. Then there is the whole bit of professionalism of having your own domain, especially when are creating a blog that will teach people how to make money online. First impressions mean everything when you are talking about a pro blog. A good domain name is like putting up a video board advertising in Times Square or Tokyo. Using a free domiain is like putting up a cardboard sign on a telephone pole.
gadsense: hmm, i see. --- this is what i would do: 1) go to namecheap.com, buy a domain. a personal one for brand purposes, or a keyword rich one for aff mktg purposes 2) go to a webhost which have cpanel/fantastico, do a single click wordpress install OR 2a) go to blogger, choose to have it hosted on your own domain, follow the instructions. --- if you want to optimize your blog, you can take a look at tools like secretBlogWeapon.com, else rob benwell's 'blogging to the bank' isn't too bad for blogger blog monetization. now, i feel like i've just repeated everything that's been said over the last 2 pages...
