    Hi Steve

I've not heard of anywhere actually offering this yet. If you find it please post it to the board.

However I wonder would a certified course really help when doing SEO for real. I'm of the opinion that yeah the basics of SEO can be taught, but the bits that make you the best are usaually found by doing research and possibly burning domains.

I dunno, what do others think?

Do you want to learn, or just get a certificate..?
If you are willing to know more about SEO, you do not need a certificates...
if you want to show a credential to your prospect clients, it i not a bad idea..

    Thanks

I put very little little weight on certifications anymore, unless they are from somewhere well known they are usually not worth the e-paper they are written on, to may places out there just handing them out.

There is only one kind of valid online SEO certification.

Take a moderately competitive search term and build a site that ranks first in the SERPs.

    Put it on your CV.

    Repeat.

I think it is better to have a good portfolio of what you've done.

    That will be more impressive.

Show the work you have currently done, continue to read and study the industry changes, have the drive and passion to succeed. Do the things listed above and you will be a success, there is no certification out there that can justify this. Also the information that these cert programs contain are for the most part out dated. I do not think they change there criteria every few months to adapt to any changes the engines have made with there algo. Just my opinion though.

SEO certification is rather slippery ground. Very often people are looking for certification and go to forums to ask about it.

I think there are 2 points of view:

    1. If you need SEO certification as a way to know more about search engines and site promotion, it is impossible to find anything free. And cheap lessons are not great also. Because SEO changes very quickly and to keep SEO training courses up-to-date one need a lot of time and energies. It can not be cheap. To get quality prepare to pay a lot.
    2. If you need certification to impress your clients you can get any certificate you can afford. Because if your clients no little about SEO they will find any certificate trustworthy. And more - better :) But of course certification will mot prove your knowledges in SEO. You need portfolio full of great-ranked sites ;)

You are the one to decide. But anyway do not forget to read more and more about SEO :)

do good seo for sites, put all ur effort and knowledge for your projects, show that u are a good SEO, build a good portfolio. that's the best certificate u can ever get.. forget abt seo classes n courses n certificates... all are waste.. u can just learn basics from such course..

SEO cant be taught it should be learned by self experiences only then u'l be a pro.Be ur own master buddy. Good Luck

The certificate in SEO is the amount of the generated SE traffic. As well as the number of the own sites in the tops. All other papers are senseless, it is not enough to know the theory, it much more important to apply it in practice.
