I need my WordPress Home Page Template Modifying

Please guys, whatever you do, please read the job description before bombarding me with offers of 'I can do that!'. I've already had 4 people say they could do this and they couldn't, although none would say why. I would also like this doing as soon as possible, so if you're currently tied up on other jobs, please don't apply. Thank you.

The Job

1. New background image (I already have this)
3. Bit more width to the site, not much, from 960 to 980 px (the extra width will be in the left column)
5. Reduce the left margin in the left side column so that text is not so indented.
7. Adjust the width of the scrolling gallery so that it has white space of its left and right side.

The site is www.50ish.org - Please see attached image to view how I would like the page to look.



Note: I think the shadow that surrounds the page and navigation bar needs looking at because it doesn't blend in with the blue background like it does with the grey (i've already tested it).
