I need moderators for my forum I have some but need more I dont want to ask members whats the best way to get some?
Promote from existing members! If you are just starting out then pick a friend or two that you can trust, then watch your new members for promising moderators. That way those you promote will have a working knowledge of how the community functions and your existing members will have something to strive for. If you just grab a few members from some place else you run the risk of them being incompetent and you may discourage your memberbase by leading them to think they won't have a chance. Besides, on a smaller board it should be easy for only a few people to keep an eye on things. Encourage the use of reporting posts (and reported posts are a nice method to find new mods).
I agree with what your saying Qryztufre - dont start paying random people - start off running the forum by yourself, and then move on to getting your members to become Mods, this means that they already know the type of things you accpet on your forum.
Hi, You said you have "some" moderators. I suggest you ask your existing moderators to review the existing members and ask your moderators who they think would be a productive addition to the team. In your moderators only forum (if you don't have one, create one), start a thread about nominating some team members from your existing user base. Could be fun!
