I need information on my infractions

    Hi,

Maybe I'll get an infraction now for posting about an infraction, which it says in the guidelines for this forum I'm not supposed to do. But you don't provide any other means to find out information about infractions, so this is the only place I can find that's remotely reasonable.

I'm trying to be an upstanding member here. And I just bought a site here for $11,000 here about two weeks ago, so I am a serious buyer and participant.

But I've gotten two infractions. The first I can kind of understand, but not really. It was for "bumping a thread" when I asked for more information. I did a search, you sent me to a relevant post, and I asked for more information. Turns out it was expired. I hadn't looked at the date. And, yes, I probably should have. But you could resolve this problem by not turning up expired listings. Fine.

The second, I have no idea. But it was apparently serious enough for you to ban me for a week. In the offending post, I just asked to be PM'd for more info, which is not uncommon. A lot of people in the same discussion thread were doing the same thing, in almost the same words, both before and after me, and they don't seem to have been penalized. So I don't understand what I did that's different.

    Here's the offending thread:

I've only been a member here for a couple of months, and perhaps I'm a bit slow to understand all your rules. But all of this feels very arbitrary and harsh. If I can't resolve it, I'll just stop participating and just conduct future activity at Sitepoint (where I've managed to sell advertising on two sites and buy two websites, all with highly positive feedback and without stumbling into any mysterious infractions).

    Thanks,
    Erick

Without even looking I can tell reason for seven day ban. See announcement in buy, sell, trade, sticky in general chat, & bumping sticky in buy, sell, trade.

The following type posts are always subject to infractions.

    I'm interested.
    Send details.
    PM sent.

Such messages belongs in PM & add nothing of value to thread reader. They only serve to bump thread.

FYI you can not see the infractions of others. A mod sees a line of red cards in that thread.
