Hi everyone. I recently switched to my own domain and hosting, and I'm totally new to this. I need help getting the RSS Widget up on my site, also a few of the social bookmarking site widgets. If anyone could help me with this Id be really appreciated. -Scott
Ok sorry. Um.. if you look at my site onlinestruggle.com I have no RSS Feed Widget etc I want to have the icons on my homepage so that people can easily add me to their RSS Feeds, and Social Bookmarking Sites. IE: Digg, SU, Del.icio.us So basically I just need help putting those icons onto the homepage and also onto each of my posts. -Scott
http://onlinestruggle.com/?feed=rss2 Is that what your talking about? Okay easy, just add a link anywhere you want. Regarding the social bookmarking icons, just install this plugin and it's all set
Ok thanks so I just add that link to the code? And for my posts do I just add in at the bottom of the text or is it in the code aswell? Thanks so much -Scott
no,don't you know anything about html? you'll need to add a piece of html code to your template files. You only need to install that plugin.
I got the social part working. I mean for the RSS Feed Icon though is there a plug-in to make it show up on the front page?
It's pretty easy to do and I doubt there's a plugin for doing that. tell me the url of the icon you're going to use and I'll give you the code to add .
Ok here. <a href="http://www.bloglines.com/sub/http://www.rssicongallery.com/rss.php"><img src="http://www.bloglines.com/images/sub_modern8.gif" alt="Add to Bloglines" width="76" height="17" border="0"></a> Thanks again
I just need to know where to put the code.. Like what file on the template do I put the code on? Thanks
the code is right. where do you want to put the icon? go to admin and then click Presentation-->Theme Editor there are several template files,if you want to add the icon to the footer, then edit the footer.php file and and so forth...
For wordpress the best one to use is http://www.addthis.com/ and this is where i downloaded it from http://codex.wordpress.org/Plugins/WordPress_Widgets This only take a few seconds to add and is very easy.. You can see it working on my blog http://www.jellybabys.co.uk/blog/ Hope that helped
Thanks for all the help topic is closed. If you want to check the icons out go to onlinestruggle.com let me know what you think of placement. Thanks Scott
