    Hello,

I am hoping someone can help with this. So I have installed WP on my VPS. I use Zpanel as my VPS cpanel and it is on Centos 64. Unfortunately I cannot update wordpress, upload images, install plugins and all the other core functions WP normally performs on a shared server. I have been told this is a permission issue and I need to create a user for WP (apache) to allow WP to write on to the site folders. I have tried all the tutorials I could find but still cannot get this to work.

Can someone assist me in solving this please?

    Regards

    Samuel

Hey there! I would contact your server support and see if they can help you. When dealing with VPS it usually has to do with the PHP handler. When I initially set up my VPS it was running DSO for the PHP handler which blocked WordPress permissions. I had it switched to a more secure handler - SuPHP - and it works flawlessly!

Let me know if this helps.
