I need help with my website, how much must I expect to pay?

Hi,

I bought a domain just a couple of months ago and have been using an easy sitebuilder. Things are going OK, but I want my site to look more professional. However, I know nothing about webdesign, CEO, traffic and so on. If I was to hire someone to help me take my website to the next level how much must I expect to pay? I write my content myself, but I need help with pretty much everything else..

I've heard about partnerships where you pay in percentage, but when the work is done.. so is the partnership..? I can't keep paying a person for doing nothing for the rest of my life.

It depends on your requirements, you can use Wordpress, or joomla for a good looking website, if you need more professional so you need to hire a good web developer, and for the content you should also hire a Content writer, and a marketing expert to take care of the SEO and everything.

you can expect around $800 to $2000.

try to find some freelances platforms and research there. I think there are tons of similar cases

 

Freelancing would be good solution as you can spend less but you should choose the right freelancer, always go with those freelancers who have good ratings.

I would say that it would cost you around $500 but make sure that you are hiring the right person, it would be good if you hire someone from freelance sites so that you would be able to check their rating and go with highest rating..

 

Decent design costs 200$ max

SEO really depends on the keyword, for 200$ you should be able to get some pretty good results.

 

I too agree with the above statements. Go for freelance sites and check designer's rating. It will not cost more than $500. If then also you don't get proper person to hire, you can contact me. I can help you out.

 

Definitely go with WordPress and find a freelancer to help you out. If you start with a framework like Genesis or Headway, that could help you get further along too without having to spend a ton of money.

As for content, check out a website like oDesk or TaskRabbit to see if you can get cheap content - you would just have to then edit it and post it.

Whatever you do, don't buy traffic. It's easy to get sucked into that hole. It's really easy to drive a ton of useless traffic, you really need qualified visits - which tend to be more expensive. Focus on your website and then inbound marketing.

 

You can get a decent looking site developed for between $100-$1000, ok but before you do that, try to use wordpress. You might find a nice looking theme (that is free) that you can use on your site. You write your own content, and using wordpress is quite easy for you to publish your own content.

You will need to hire people to help you with SEO, and or challenge yourself to put one link a week on someone elses site that points back to yours.
