I decided to monetize my blog and I'm in no hurry. I'd like to know what are the best revenue programs for a blog like mine (http://marketfederation.com)? Should I use Adsense, Adbrite, Text-Link-Ads...? Actually I'd like to hear your suggestions, what programs do you suggest and where should ads be placed? I think I have a pretty "clean" blog and I don't want to disturbe it by popping ads all over it. I'd like you to help me out.
I think Adsense is recognized as the top-dog. I have used Adbrite as well, but have not liked it as much. I have been a bigger fan of building relationships with people in forums (such as this) and working out creative ways to make money via partnerships and affiliate arrangements. It's just more fun to feel like you're working with real people rather than some big advertising machine IMHO.
AdSense is the easiest alternative for now. I'd also look into Amazon. Add some targeted product links to the site. I'm not a big fan of using any link selling service that takes 50%, because you need to get twice the orders for the same money. If link sales are an option, advertise on a couple webmaster forums and just plugging away. As your blog grows, think about contacting businesses in your field and seeing if they want to advertise, sponsor or have something reviewed.
Thank you for your help. I signed up with Text-Link-Ads and Google Adsense. I'll read those e-books for sure, thanks!
Since your blog caters to webmasters trying to earn money from internet then Text Link Ads and Review Me will make good choices. Adsense of course is one size fits all but I think you'll earn better with TLA and other webmasters related advertisement.
