i need help transfering my site to a dedicated host.

i have my website on a shared host.
i have just purchased a dedicated server that is linux based and i need someone to transfer my wordpress blog over from the shared host to the dedicated host. a.s.a.p

Are they not helping you with data transfer process ?

 

let me clear something

till now you website was hosted on a shared hosting on which you never need to set up anything

but now you have purchased a dedicated server which comes, unsecure, un managed

so first of all just transfering the website will not be sufficient

first u need to set up dns , date time , have to add additional ip for name servers, then need to configure name servers and many such small thing, and also you need to take a security check up for your server

then only it will be helpful for you, otherwise you will just waste your money in this and someone will hack your site and server with in 1 day

just wrote all this for your betterment

also transferring your word press blog to your new server after all these ste up will hardly take 5-10 min maximum ( if its too big ) if small then will take 1,2 min max
