Well, a little digging shows she was arrested in Gilmer County Georgia for: Computer Fraud (Felony) Theft by taking (Felony) I did computer related investigations for a law firm in Boston for years. You are correct with respect to the expense. You will easily spend $20,000 on one. It seems very unlikely she would be arrested for these charges because of an e-mail. There would have to be physical evidence of the crime to get a warrant. She's better off spending the money on an attorney that can plead her out. A trial would be expensive and the chance of a not guilty verdict seems remote.
The plot thickens...you made no mention of being "stalked" in your original post and replies. Can you elaborate further?
I was in another town, and I have proof. We also have proof that he sent the email from my email address. Ta-Da!
Well, hoping you best of luck. Even though it sounds like you have everything under control, find legal representation.
This sounds familiar...If you have a restraining order from someone and you happen to have that person in your email contact, REMOVE that person in your contact. Why? A no-contact order is a no contact either physical, voice, digital communication or otherwise. If your email ever gets a virus and that virus sends out email to all of your contacts and if one of those happens to be a no-contact recipient, that could get you into trouble, even though you're not at fault, the headache is just not worth it. It could very well be that your email had a virus and sent out the email for you. Edit: I just realize the post is much longer than I thought, therefor I din't read all of the comments. And the link provided above 'Man gets ARRESTED after Google+ 'sent an automatic invitation', yea, that's what I'm talking about. delete that person from your contact.
