I think most people will hate freelancer, odes and elance as well. Workers are always taken advantage of and you have to seriously find in order to land a single client. You'll go nuts fighting the bidding game as well. You waste money and time to join as a freelancer, writing stupid offers and not getting anything in return... Unfortunately, though, there aren't many more methods to start...
