I need help, text formatting won't stick.

Whenever I type anything into ANY of the joomla editors, I type it as:

How are you doing today people, in this site, is all of the info you would ever need.

    It is great!

It comes out, without formatting and spacing:

How are you doing today people, in this site, is all of the info you would ever need. It is great!

What has gone wrong? I've had joomla working before hand, I reinstalled many times to this same erroneous effect. If anybody knows how to fix this, please share!

CSS is overriding the content formatting.

My preferred editor for Joomla is JCE.

You are probably using tinyMCE ? Set up the way it works in the :

Plugin Manager > Editor - TinyMCE. If it is not enabled, enable it. If you are using an old version of Joomla, upgrade. :)

Well I thought about that, but this template worked fine on a previous install. The first article I make the formatting sticks on.

I've used joomlafck, tinymce, and jce. It happens with all editors!

Create a .css file or modify your current templates .css to include the fonts and spacing you need. You can then choose it for every article or sentence.

Yes, it is in a way. But I enjoy messing around with code. And... Joomla is not just a hobby for me.

For your situation, I could suggest a number of options, from re-installing Joomla, to disabling the text editor. It is just too complicated to put here in one post.

I've tried all editors and the code dissappears at the editor end and seemingly not the visual site end. I've reinstalled many times to no avail.

I fixed it, it was the Filter options. If set to whitelist with all selected I got the problem, once I set it to blacklist and no options, It worked fine!

JoomlaFCK is my favourite, but I did an unnecessary reinstall of joomla so that account I had made you is gone lol. It has the best control for tables and a office 2007 look that I like. A little slow to load on bad pcs, but I invested in mine so no trouble here!

Try changing the editor before digging into the css. You could also see if editing the html code will fix the issue.

Like I said I fixed it. It was my blacklist. And the Css can't cause the editor to lose the formatting. Only the visual frontend.
