i have search script on my computer on Apache server also i have forum on my computer my problem? my script like google search but he is go to search in websites manual no automatic like google and when he go to index forums and web sitees you can see it name is visitor not spider name like google what i need help? 1- i want when you see my spider script in forums in online bage now he be spider name not visitor like google spider and yahoo and ask 2- i want my spider script go to index websites and forums automatic not manuale lie google and yahoo and others scripts search. and thank you for all everybody help me in this proble
OK, it's hard to understand what you're trying to say, but I think you want to get your manual searching spider to show up as a spider name on forums when it's indexing like google and yahoo do change your script from manual to automatic The first is not possible to do since it's the individual websites that recognise the ip ranges of google/yahoo and change the name where appropriate. You would therefore need those sites to acknowledge your bots ip and change it. This is highly unlikely to happen The second you can do by creating a script that runs based on a cron job, and crawls every so often getting links etc. Remember that Google has been around for over 10 years so its got a lot of indexed content and also it's had countless upgrades to the algorithm, with hundreds of programmers working on it, so expect to have lots of tweaking to do

Oh, well if the forum is your own, and the spider is your own then sure it will be possible. There must be a plugin/mod that does this for the forum software you are using (if it's vbulletin, phpbb etc) so yeah it can be done. It won't be shown on other forums/sites though

That is because forums recognise the spider IP ranges and convert them by themselves. Google does not send them a username, they set them themselves
so why i see my spider name is visitor , why no my name domain like google or yahoo and ask and what i can do if i want show my spider name like them
what he basically says is, forums identify the robots through ip ranges because they are widely known, unless you are a bad-ass company and sites will benefit from your crawls, i highly doubt they will update their code to recognize your bot/crawler or whatever
