I will suggest to go with a host which provide good technical support. I had very bad experience in terms of Technical support with 2 of webhosting companies. So do consider this point when selecting a webhost.

    Hostgator is good...
To find a good company just search for them on google and on forums like this one to check out their reputation.
Then visit their website to see if they're reliable enough :)

Yes, Hostgator and Hostmonster are good. However; you also have JustHost, Webhostingpad that offers the streaming video and are affordable. I would suggest that you carefully read each hosting review and choose the host that best suit you. http://www.webhostinggoodies.com

HostGator is great! They have a solid reputation - as does 1&1 - google them for coupons and help videos

Example: If you were looking to build WordPress blogs you would want cpanel access with Fantastico and a few databases & a fair amount of emails

The thing about choosing hosting is you have to consider how much activity you expect
What you will be using it for and how serious you are about your business
Do you want to just get your feet wet and play around with some projects while you learn
or do you know what you're doing and have a plan?

You get what you paid for in anything you buy - Personal priorities and objectives are the name of the game

There are some guys here at DP publicly posting their project "GOLDFISH" - look it up and watch the thread the research them on DP.

Look at what the Big Names are doing - I personally have a hosting reseller account - I pay $10 month but I'm always flipping websites and hosting my friends and family's websites.

    Hope that this helps :)

Before writing this post, I Googled: "web hosting" giveaway rights = I got some great documents
Look at Hulu, Google and other video websites - Videos and EzineArticles are my 2 favorite resources when I want to learn something new.

I would avoid hostmonster and bluhost - they are one and the same and these guys have horrible support. Try reading some hosting reviews but be careful not to go with those who are getting paid to promote a review.

HostGator is probably your best option, but remember there is no such thing as "unlimited"

    Right.

I use Hostgator with no problems, too.

    Don't forget those coupon codes.

I am running a VPS through Geek Storage, and have been very happy with their service. Support gets back to you extremely quick and the price can't be beat! Check my sig below for the link.

I've been hearing good things about geek storage on WHT. How long have you been with them?

If you are going to streaming a lot of video you may even want to consider a dedicated box on a 100 mbit line.

Hostgator ftw I've had great customer service in the past, and not-so-great customer service. I would talk to Douglas Be from technical support. He IS the MAN
