Recently, my IPB forum website has been hacked.

The current "Admin" is a hacker. My admin was removed by this hacker.

I think there may be a back door that can easily be broken by a hacker on an IPB forum.

Could anybody please show me how and so that I get back my forum ownership?

I will very apprecite it if anybody could help me out on this issue.

    2)

If anyone can let me know how to convert an IPB forum to a vBulletin based forum, I will appreciate it too.

If you have a backup of the IPB and the installation files (not the previously installed version but the installation files) then you could simply delete the existing forum, install a fresh one, and restore the database from the backup. That might do the job for you.

Hacking your forums is nothing...you should still have access to the database and hosting account. You should contact IPB for support imho. Is it a paid license or are you running an old version that has holes in it like swiss cheese.

    Which IPB version?

If its 2.x.x contact IPS support.

If it's 1.3 then i have to say its really your own fault. IPB 1.3 is one of the worst forum software security wise...

I think the best way for you would be to ask their support for these enquiries, however just out of curiousity which version were you running, did you check file permissions etc?

I believe a fresh install would do the trick (if you don't have many modifications installed, do it!) however if you have a good amount of modifications installed, maybe you should ask them for any assistance.

Asking the official IPB support team would be best, however you should just access your hosting account and then restore the database. Thats if you have a copy of it.
