So for the last 2 years i have been learning this make money on the internet extravaganza DONT WORRY I AM NOT TALKING ABOUT GET RICH QUICK SKEEMS just making the internet work for you . . . and now that i can build a fairly decent looking site and own a little over 100 domains/websites i have i guess crossed the line into "unknown" territory. All the stuff i have been doing to get ranked NUMBER 1 in the past just isnt working for me in these new niches. I am making money in them BUT I WOULD MAKE SO MUCH MORE IF I COULD GET FOUND like all the other times.

Well what i need help on is how to get links from where they count ( do these directory listing really help ??? ) i am involved in the insurance area of the internet right now . . . I EVEN OWN DOMAINS FOR THE EXACT KEYWORDS I WANNA BE FOUND IN . . . the only problem is, is that allstate and geico wont budge in the rankings because of their 2-5 million backlinks

Do directory listings work . . . and if so WHAT IS A PROGRAM I CAN USE so i can MASS submit them . . . i know i know you dont just want 1000 links but whatever ALL WONT GET LISTED/APPROVED and it will be on a constant basis

    WHAT TO DO . . . WHAT TO DO ? ? ?

I WANT TO BEAT THEM AT THEIR OWN GAME ! :D

Submitting to a ton of directories has become a complete waste of time, They don't pass any link popularity and they drive zero traffic.

Google's SEO Guidelines has actually removed their suggestion of submitting to directories

There are a few directories that would help, but can be difficult to get listed in, as they are human edited and therefore your sites must be high quality.

    They are...

    http://www.dmoz.org/

    http://www.google.com/dirhp

    http://dir.yahoo.com/

Other than these 3, don't waste your time and money

Backlinks from content rich sites like blogs work very well. Try having blogroll/sitewide links from relevant sites.

When I first started I read everywhere how important it is get in directories. While they have their place I find article submission, social bookmarking and commenting in forums and blogs work great.

insurance is a very profitable niche for which is is also very competitive. you cant just depend on one or 2 forms of link building for this niche. utulize all possible source of backlinks you can get your hands on. focus on social media marketing as well since it provides good value in terms of both traffic and high quality backlinks
