    hi,

I have a free hosting account and tried to work on a second blog. I didnt know that you only have the one database. download wordpress a second time and the first site went walkies into cyberspace.

however, the sitemap is still online and in amongst all the wordpress files.

Anybody know where to look to know that the files are indeed gone forever?

Is there a shortcut or do i have to physically copy and paste every cached page on the net?

The site i tried to create (f'ken great idea that) is now the site url, im presuming thats because of the wp i downloaded. Do I have to uninstall it and start again with my initial site url?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, im not very technically gifted.
    here's the sitemap

    thanks
    Matt

I believe your only chance is to ask your host for help. Maybe they have a backup of your site on their servers that you could use to restore your old blog ot its original state.

    Good luck.

    Hi Matt,

Provided the free host does not do backups of your site, there can be two possibilities:

If your free host is hosting you with Layered Panel then probably you have lost everything.

If your free host is hosting you with Cpanel then you have a chance that you still have your contents.

But, if you ever backed up your database then you can easily restore it, that way at least you will not have to write everything again, only have to upload the files.

Never backed it up? Sheeesh Kebab bro!! I really hope you get your blog back real soon and do not be heartbroken even if you lose everything, you can always start again and you will be much better the second time! I lost my site once this way, two months of posts, around 45 of them, gone with the wind!! Had to restart again and I never messed anything again! I can proudly say that I even became a Wordpress Wiz in the process because I had to try everything to get it back, had to know everything about wordpress and now I can confidently say that I am one of the most knowledgeable guys when it comes to Wordpress :)

Best of luck man! Keep us updated and if there is anything we can do to help, simply ask away!
