I am stupid when it comes to technical stuff and I need help.

I'm hoping some nice person from DP can help. I hope this is in the right place, sorry if it's not.

I am full of creativity and ideas but with my technical difficulties it's hard to do much with it.

I have software that makes it easy to build websites. I have websites built on it.

I have a hosting account with hostgator. It says you can have unlimited sites on your account. I want to have several sites on it.

    I have domains at godaddy.

Problem is, getting the sites uploaded to hostgator and up and running. I don't know how this works.

I know I can upload via FTP with the software but I don't know how it would work with uploading several sites on one hostgator acct. I have never uploaded anything before. Hostgator has a cpanel, but I'm afraid to mess around with it.

If it were possible, I'd just pay someone who knows what they're doing to do it, but since the software is on my computer I don't think that's possible.

Does anyone have a solution for this?

What type of account do you have with HostGator? I'm presuming it's the $10/month one.

I don't know about hostgater....but I know that 95% of cpanels have a button in there called "file manager" or something of the sort. This is where all your files go. Once you are there, look for a public_html folder. If there is one, then click it. If there isn't, then skip that step. Once you are inside click the 'create a folder' link or button which should be somewhere on that page.

Now just name the folder according to your site and upload all your files to there. There should be a button called 'upload files' somewhere. Once this is done, all you have to do is redirect your godaddy.com domain to that folder and voila!

I might be wrong on some of this, and if I am, I am really sorry. If not, and you feel I helped, just rep me or buy a link on my site (coming soon!).

Yeah, HostGator has the same setup as other providers using cPanel.

You may have a 'domain control' button in your cPanel.
    Click there and ad domain.
One added, just redirect the index file.

Hope this help though...doesn't sound easy...

    determined,

If all of your sites are on the same panel / server the FTP hostname will/can be the same but each site should have it's own FTP username and password. Once connected as the proper user simply look for the /public_html folder as normal, upload your files (index.html, etc) and browse to the appropriate domain to view the page(s).

    Regards

Yes, all of the sites would be on the same cpanel.

Forumrating, how could you set it up when the site building software where the sites are, are installed on my computer?

If there was a way I'd like to know about it.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not ready to mess around with cpanel right now, don't want to screw anything up. Hoping to get a grasp on this. Thanks.

are they with database or without database ? i have no clue what software you are using, but if u try blogs they can work very fast.
u can set up blog within a min and load the rest of data there, and then choose the design and load it.
