Here's a tip - setup Google authorship on your website. In the footer, simply put a link like this: <a href="YOUR GOOGLE PLUS PERSONAL PROFILE URL" rel="author">+ YOUR NAME</a> If you use WordPress, there are a number of different plugins that will make it even easier to add G+ authorship. Doing the code as above will make it possible to have your picture show up in the search results.

1. Post images as your main content with a link in the description. Users tend to pay more attention to images than normal text posts and so they will +1 and share it more often than other types. 2. Attached/verify your Google+ page with your website. It provides potential "fans" the chance to see that the page is more than just some random page looking for a following. 3. Try not too post too often like you may do on Twitter. I've found 1-2 daily posts tends to give me the most interactions with fewer posts than 1/day too little and more than 2/day having less effect per post. 4. Search for "competitors" in your niche and see what works for them. I have the #1 page and Google recommends it to new users. I achieved this by looking at what works for other pages and implementing similar strategies.
