Hey.. I have my blog http://www.teendude.blogspot.com Ok, so I've had this for a week.. I've been building backlinks since 3 days ago. I have submitted to atleast 20 Web Directories, and I have it on my Signature on Blogger Talk.. I have atleast about 50 backlinks.. When I use any backlink checker, it says I have no backlinks.. Why?! Shouldn't it find them? I use iwebtool.com and I've tried a couple of things.. Still says no backlinks.. I'm ranked 3rd for "teen dude" on google.. but that's it! I can't seem to rank on anything else, and let's face it.. Who searches for teen dude! So.. I need backlinks, I have backlinks, but why aren't they being found? Requesting immediate help Thanks
as far as i can tell (being a noob and all) you need to have some patience. teh back link checkers using old databases, sometimes even weeks old. you will start seeing results for your efforts after a week or two, maybe even three.
Simply because backlinks are updated every 3 months or so(Google). Also submitting to directories doesn't guarantee you that your site will be approved instantly.
Get a blog hosted with a real domain, backlinks will come easier. If you look at some of the guidelines, allot of directories won't take sub-domains.
A week!!! If it only were that easy. 20 directorys isn't something to track on. You have to be very dedicated. I've submitted to over 3000 directories on a 5 month period for one site I have and it still struggles. Try not to look for encouragment after such a short time. Instead just go nuts advertising and then you'll start seeing the backlinks grow by 100's.
Also remember Google don't always count every link as backlinks. If you want to know if you're improving in your backlinks campaign, check it on Yahoo because Yahoo do count almost all links as backlinks. Just type: link:http://www.teendude.blogspot.com on yahoo search box or siteexplorer. Goodluck!
You got to wait I had same problem as you. I had a blog up and I had a lot of links but it wasnt showing up in google, some did show up in Yahoo, but for google i think they update it every month or so i dont know about their timing but you will see results soon..
i think those pages which your link stays has not been indexed. just wait. when google or the others has indexed those pages, you can find your backlinks on search engines
yeah that iwebtool is a bit dodgy sometimes from my past experience... (it works great when it tells me my sites good though ) But yeah this just seems to all be about patience mate, dont expect to see your rankings/backlinks rocket in just days, it doesn't happen like that
do not worry about these tools for your site just yet. concentrate on gaining backlinks and building your site which is first and foremost the important thing to do.
Okay, not trying to pick on you specifically, Programmed2Kill, but this is exactly what I was ranting about in another post somewhere on these boards. People think they can just jump on the Internets and start kickin' arse within a week or so; that the rest of us must be a bunch of idiots or layabouts and they're going to dominate right off the bat. Dude, again, not to pick on you specifically: 1. It take a hell of a lot of work to succeed on the Web. 2. It takes a hell of a lot longer than a frickin' week to get anywhere. Try months. Or YEARS.
