You have to be able to write well to make any money from a blog or forum posting. Based on the posts so far, I don't think that writing is where this guy should start looking to make money. This forum is getting filled lately with people that are looking for how to make money on the internet, but don't have any marketable skills. I think you need to first do some homework by studying this forum and seeing what other people are involved in. Read up on something that interests you and learn some skills. Then you'll be able to go and make some money. I think its unreasonable to assume that someone is just going to pay you to do something when you admit you don't have the skills. My advice if you aren't willing to learn something, is to apply for jobs in the local brick and mortar businesses... there are tons of them around here that pay around $10/hour for unskilled workers.
It is hard to compete for jobs on a forum like DP where there are so many people who are good desigers, coders, SEO, marketers, etc. But yeah a blog is probably your best bet as it is easy to set up and if you do a few basic things right will bring you a minimum of $100 a month extra which isn't terrible considering the time you would spend on it. Really depends on your budget also.

Odesk is one outstanding online working platform. You can sign up there and offer your services to get hired by employers so you can earn. You can also work hard on PPC campaigns.
