That is great advice warriorkay. A very innovative and effective way to utilize high traffic. If I as you unsealed, I would definitely give this advice a try. It could be very profitable.
Try contacting some companies or other websites in your niche and ask them if they want to place an add on you site for a certain price. You can sell a couple of ad spaces and have steady income for months if the companies that have their ads there is satisfied.

Hi Unsealed, What do you consider as “high traffic� How many impressions a day are we talking about here? Our suggestion is try to run some test with all forms of platforms and/or networks and end up with a ROI based answer. In Marimedia, we are all about the long run, we think of our relationships with publishers as partnerships- and we make sure to keep them happy for the long run. You should make sure to find a network / buyer that will treat you the same.
You have to try all the methods one by one and test, which one works best for your website. It may be the case that you will be using multiple mechanism for monetizing our traffic.
Now the business is going with multiple tactics so I recommend you try with the adsense and cpm and affiliate programs. please start with that seems easier to you first.
Depending on your market, I would test affiliate products banners, from cj, clickbank etc, and CPA offers (look up offervault). Adsense would be the last thing i would stick in there.

depends on if you want quick cash or long term. I would suggest in my opinion, as a network owner, to check out cpa offers along with banners. Have fun and experiment, whichever pulls the highest epc then use. You never know until you try yourself!
The whole problem actually is my Alexa Rating, it's so bad. Yet I'm making 300$ a day with adsense with just one ad. In all honesty I wish ad networks would look past the alexa rating and just accept raw stats from server logs/google analytics... It seems like none of my users have the toolbar installed. I keep getting refused in high paying CPM networks because of that rating. Sad story is CPM would benefit me way more then CPC with adsense, due to the very high traffic. Any good cpc networks that look past the alexa rating?

Besides Adsense I would try to sell banner spaces for ad spaces on the side bar. Of course this all depending on the amount of traffic.
