I have found a very good keyword that I would like to use in my domain name, but the domain names that incorporate this keyword are all taken (the.com, .net, .org extensions are taken) and I don't wish to use dashes in the domain name. My only option is to add an extra word to the keyword. An extra word could be "info", or "guide", or "review" or "sale" Could anyone please help me decide what a good extra word would be, besides the ones I mentioned? The keyword involves a physical product, so it could also be "store", "shop" or something similar. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! Robert
my friend here you dont find things according to your desire but you have to get what ever is vacant, i suggest you if you get many good words like store, point, review, guide etc. then select any it will work equally.
Hello, maybe something unique as your store name for example dogbedswow dot com where wow is the name of your company
What many people do in this type of situations is adding an additional letter, for example "x" or "z". So if you wanted to rank for "online games", you would use the domain "onlinegamesx.com", with just adding a letter instead of a word it is supposed to get your domain more SEO optimized. Many people have tested this method, and they have had good results.
I can give you more options if you could give me your main keyword here. If not then go with something like storez or shopz with a letter 'z' instead of 's'
Just my opinion, but if I am trying to rank for a keyword, then I want an exact domain name match (.com, net, or .org). Google views them a little better. I had purchased a .com and .net of a particular phrase, and only installed wordpress and All in one SEO, and ranked on page 1 for both with no content. (of course didn't leave them blank ) Additionally, by adding a word to the given keyword, there is still a chance I am going to be competing against the main keyword domain names, especially if the are SEO'd. My advice, find another keyword with an exact domain match. I'm sure there are keywords in your niche that aren't taken. Just might take a little imagination.
100% keyword domains are worth it. Even a .org is worth paying for. It certainly gives you a huge advantage over non-100% keyword domain names. A domain with an extra character is good too but it is not a close second. Pay the money or settle for another extension.
If you want to add some additional words to your keyword, try to look the keyword with additional words on the AdWords tool. Try to search if any person search the internet in exact keyword. If not it's not advisable to use it, I highly recommend to use always exact domain to your keywords.
I prefer use com, net , and org for my target keyword..but if keyword is taken, usually I add extension "z" for the last word. lol the important is main keyword in domain name..
TBH, its great to have a domain name with the keyword in it; but its definitely not necessary if you have a well planned out SEO strategy
I totally agree with SEO Tard. It's important what you do AFTER you buy the domain, I've seen a lot of 'non-keyworded' domains rank higher than other websites that had a good domain, just from no of backlinks and social marking. Usually if you cannot find www. keyword.com you go on the next steps like this: www. keyword.org www. keyword.net www. keywords.com (.org, .net) www. keywordreview.com (where review can be replaced by info, guide, sale, onsale, secrets, etc.) www. thekeyword.com www. thekeywords.com But I'm sure by now you've already found a domain. Maybe you let us know and close the thread? Best of luck!
