Hi all, I am trying to set up a new blog and I've come across the perfect looking layout - I can't find what theme that this site uses but I'm looking for one that would allow a site to look like something similar. Any ideas please http://www.thejournal.ie/
That is not wordpress but its still a piece of cake.. Here are 113 of them to browse.... http://themeforest.net/category/wordpress/blog-magazine/news-editorial hope that helps this is pretty easy stuff, Nigel
Oh? Their about us page says that they use wordpress. Thanks very much for the reply, but I had a look at those themes - I'm very new to WordPress, and I can't see how you would edit menu's etc to make a theme appear like something along the lines of http://www.thejournal.ie ? Do you have anything specific? Thanks again for your reply.
Appearance>menus If you have skype I can have you up to speed in 10 minutes. I taught the 12 year old downstairs how to deal with wp in about 15 minutes. Its secretary level stuff. happy to help, Nigel
Wow! You're a gentleman, Nigel. Much obliged. Yes I have skype and would be delighted with your help. Could you please provide a link to an appropriate template and I'll acquire that first? I'll PM you my skype name then?
Well I never advise you use the same thing but its fairly trivial really. I will drop a note with my skype login but I can run you through wp real fast as well so this makes some sense. What template you use is academic really. What do you like the looks of really. They can all typically be arranged however you want. They are all widgetized so you typically just drag and drop stuff where you want it. Its really much easier than you may think it is. Nigel
Well I have played around with WP before, but it's a specific type of layout I'm after, and thejournal's fits the bill. Thank you
Then quite literally anything in the list of 100 of them I sent will work for you. Most of them have a homepage builder to put what post or news categories you want wherever you want them. Its an esthetic issue really. Most if not all them you can organize accordingly. Your only consideration here is that you would want 3 columns I guess. Nigel
