Hello, I manage a website with a private section. This section is only available for Premium users who have logged in. I want to embed videos in several pages of this section. I want these vids : -not to be available anywhere else on internet but in the private section of my website (this means not in google pages, not via the search function of the platform which would host it, not via the exact url of the vid in the platform that would host it...). -not to be downladable via DownloadHelper, Orbyt Downloader, or any other software allowing to download streaming videos) I am looking for a solution. I would prefer a free one. Does any of you guys know a platform which would offer such services? Thank you Nicole
This is really a browser issue. You can make it a tad more difficult but at the end of the day, If I want to download or capture something, there is jack shit you can do to stop me for instance. When you start getting into DRM like issues you become the enemy as well so that is not really a tenable solution either. N.
I should add, in terms of google not indexing things. that is easy and done with htaccess in about 2 minutes. N.
Hi Nigel, I know I can't make 100% sure that noone will be able to steal the videos. For example, anyone using camtasia or recording softwares like that might record the videos while watching it. But at least, if I make sure it can't be downloaded easily, (and using download helper or orbyt downloader seem to be the easiest ways to do so), it should prevent 95% of the users who might be tempted to steal this content.
preventing google from crawling the pages shouldn't be a problem as this is a secured private section (as far as I don't use youtube to host the vids)
I had a few secs to flesh things out. Even the smartest dudes on the planet say its not doable http://stackoverflow.com/questions/...prevent-video-downloader-addins-or-programmes N.
You can always embed with HTML 5 or The best solution for you would be this tool right here. Enjoy! http://www.jwplayer.com/ It's free.
the doc declaration has nothing to do with the ops issue http://stackoverflow.com/questions/18509385/html-5-video-recording-and-storing-a-stream N.
I would watermark the video if its that important. Keep in mind, if I fetch a page over http or a vid, its sitting in the user temp internet folder. Your only solution here is DRM and that makes you entirely evil so dont do it. N.
More noteworthy, folks poaching or otherwise stealing stuff is simply a compliment to you and opens up a wide range of marketing options for you. You have a non issue here. N>
