I have a free PR4 directory on a subdomain, let's call it http://directory.thisdomain.com. I don't really like it having it this way, so I am thinking of getting a name for the directory. What name would you recommend? I'm kinda out of ideas. Plus, how do I get a PR4 for http://directory.thisdomain.com transferred to this new URL?

By building some quality backlinks to your new sub domain :)

Regarding name, well.. you can have a better idea since we do not know whats your main domain url.

Well I have called it "Open Web Directory" but the URLs openwebdirectory.com, opendir.com and opendirectory.com has already been taken. I don't mind a totally different name :D

If you change the domain --you will loose all the PR you have.

yah, domain names are very subjective and one man's meat is another man's poison. You need to find something that YOU like, not what WE like..... :)

Whatever you do, just don't base it on anything similar to other directories out there. Trawl through some directory lists at Vilesilencer or Directory Critic and you will start to get a feel for how derivative some of the names can be, and honestly it gets confusing. Look to real life for your inspiration, not the online world.

Whip out dictionary.com and urbandictionary (for some outlandish names) and see what ya come up with. Good luck!
