OK ... a little preamble first. I'm a little fedup with trawling these forums trying to find a designer to supply my needs - only to find they either don't respond / do so eventually / don't listen to my request / or don't actually design and just play with typefaces. So if you can respond (I understand life changes and %$*& happens) within a reasonable timeframe - Are prepared to discuss the project as needs be - Able to offer variations - Able to meet the requirements (see below) - then please read on ... I have a blog that is currently having a theme designed for it but it needs a logo / header to go with it. Logo / Header Name: ChurchTechy or Church Techy Tag line (optional): Where Tech Meets Church Description: It's a personal blog about my role as a tech head serving my local Church IT needs Website URL: www.churchtechy.com Color Preference: To match theme or be easily tranposable to alternative colour combos - theme in development is using dark colours in the bluey / black ranges at present. Best I can offer at present is to look at this link for a preview of the background! Turnaround Time: Nothing spectacular - more interested in uniqueness than speed Hard and Fast: Must be in vector format with the completed artwork and .PSD's or .AI's delivered at the end and I expect interaction with you not reaction! Other Info: I do NOT want any standard church / tech type symbol. Happy to have these stylised or referenced to via other images / symbols. And now the important bit to entice the designers out there. Money: I am willing to pay $40 (which I think is far above current requirements from a lot of you out there) for the right design. HOW THIS WILL RUN:I guess what I am looking for are ideas initially - even if only a written ideas so as not to waste your time in design. Once I am happy with potential designs I will select and advise the designer whom can then complete and deliver the agreed design. Upon delivery of the completed design and to my satisfaction I will transfer $40 via paypal to the designer.
Hi. I am online and available through Yahoo Messenger several hours each day. I check my email regularly and reply promptly. I design headers and banners on a regular basis for 2 people at the moment and have had no complaints so far. Here is what I have so far. And I will be picking (hopefully) a designer from all the replies sometime next week. Do remember .... I don't want any obvious Church or Tech symbology in use! Stuart
Hi ... I do like this and it's clean crisp approach but there are several aspects to it that don't meet my criteria or simply that I don't like. Firstly you have included a cross and whilst I understand this I don't want a logo that has such identifiable symbols. By all means make it abstract or surreal but not an out and out straightforward symbol (of either church or tech). The second thing I don't like - and this is purely a personal preference is the all capitals approach. Finally I was looking for moreof a design element than adding on a symbol to some fancied up typography. Hope this helps you and others? Stuart

I'm fairly certain I'd been quite explicit in my wants in the original design brief. If you see those as negatives then fair enough but if it isn't obvious I am looking for someone to help spark my imagination for me. That said, there is huge lassitude for the designer to come up with something creative - NOT THAT I'M ASKING FOR DESIGNS AT THIS STAGE.
... has been made. First off thank you very much to everyone whom replied via PM. It was gratifying to see so many wanting to help. It's been tough trying to pick one designer so what I am doing is entering into phase 2 of this process and will be contacting 3 of the many designers that contacted me to see if they are willing to take this a step further. Those three are: fiona45in / project mobius / freebanner Again my thanks for all your time and efforts. I do believe I thanked everyone that PM'd me personally but if I didn't then please accept my apologies.
I give up!!!! None of the three were willing to take this further. Had they been so, it would have generated more future work for them but for now I have neither the energy nor will to keep chasing them to try and get even a simple response. This project is closed unless someone out there has a brainstorm and fancies it.
