i need a host

I'm about to start a website and i'm eyeing hostican as my host. However, i can't order their vps (their extreme vps package) yet. so i'm planning on ordering their base host for the meantime.

Furthermore, i tried asking them a long time ago if my site can contain adult stuffs. Users may show images (external) in my website and I believe there should be a way for them to display adult images. But the reply I got from them is that adult stuffs are prohibited (though they didn't specify if it's not also ok for external images). I googled adult hosts and hostican always show up in the reviews. So I'm kinda confused now on what is what. Do they really allow adult content? They replied no. But the reviews in the net say yes. So, what is it really? Also, maybe you can say a different good host which allow adult contents.

Now, another problem. My site might actually pull large number of visits in a day (even immediately after it started). I'm guessing it may get 100 to 1,000 unique visitors (500 to 5,000 page views) in a day within the first month of my website (though I may be wrong). I tried my best to reduce the bandwidth a page view in my site consumes (like far expires headers for static files). A page view in my site consumes about 20KB of bandwidth (yeah, it's really small). My question is, can hostican (or any other host you may suggest) withstand that traffic for a cheap basic package (non-vps)?

The vps package I want from hostican costs $1,000 per year. And I don't have that money right now, so I'll just stick with the basic package for the meantime. Will this really be ok? Or maybe you know some other good hosts out there which has cheaper vps.

I'm new to web development and i hope you guys can help me. Just lead me the way.

If you e-mailed them or spoke to one of their reps and they it's prohibited then its best to believe them over reviews. You can actually find a lot of different providers who will allow adult content. Depending on what you want, you can even get a server from www.interserver.net that's as cheap as a VPS.

How much space and bandwidth do you require? I don't have VPS, but I can set you up with adult hosting provided that you don't post child porn..
