Hello, I am trying to come up with occasions where there has been civil unrest or mass disobedience in the law, or possibly things that led to a revolt or revolution that then turned out to be something positive. For instance, one example I can think of is the 1970s in United Kingdom where Maggie Thatcher brought in the poll tax which then lead to her eventual demise, but before that, the majority of the Country refused to pay it and so the law was eventually changed. Im trying to think of any such occasions where there has been disobedience to the law on either a mass scale or a single scale in any country, which could be argued lead to a change for the good. For all your political gurus out there it would be good, Im trying to get a research base for an article but need references first. Thanks.
How about the coup d'état attempt in Venezuela in 2002. Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2002_Venezuelan_coup_d'état_attempt Google Video: http://video.google.co.uk/url?docid...evised&usg=AL29H217JmqH1Ec50Q7fzbC4_9P37e006g I highly recommend that documentary, The Revolution Will Not Be Televised, to everybody. A very profound and meaningful look into the dirty world of politics. It's one sad documentary, but you will find yourself exceedingly elated at the power of human courage.
