Hi, I am in the process of setting up a site for client which deals in the adult industy. I would like to know if anyone has a researchsheet for payment gateways, processing etc. Perhaps you can get me a link to a guide about what one should choose, I found one 1 month ago and saved it, but my computer crashed so I lost the link. So if anyone has a analysis of payment processors, how they work, the charges let me know. I want to look at as many as possible and looking to integrate a solution where people pay instantly by creditcard. What would your recommendation be? Regards
Try www. acceptpaymentsnow .net it is secure and they don't charge setup fees. The way it works is visa/mc/discover have their own set fees that goes straight to them every time a card is taken. The fees they charge depends on the type of card being used and if it is being swiped or keyed in. When someone uses their business card, it costs more than a regular credit card because business cards tend to have a higher rate of chargebacks. You can google visa "interchange chart" this will give you a break down of all the fees that they charge. So now that you have that down you can better understand how card processors work. The payment processor is taking liability for the cards being swiped, therefore they tack on additional fees to what visa/mc/disc interchange rates are. Alot of companies will take on 1-3% on top of interchange is for processing the cards. Try the website I gave you, their rates used to be .50% on top of interchange, but not sure if it still is.
