uhm.. start a nisched forum.. an arcade site.. a video/pic site like Shooshtime.. maybe write an e-book about something you're good at? there's a ton of ideas out there. Take something proven to work and run with it.. there's always space for competition on the net, I learned that in the beginning.
I know but I really would like to do something original. I enjoy playing around so much but I have no direction. Really need to find some.
i do enjoy the forums.....alot! just wish i could find some project worth working on. i am not a programmer. i am a chemist. i do enjoy testing stuff.
How about a full body teleporation system? Oh wait, someone already has the patent. http://appft1.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph...122.PGNR.&OS=DN/20060071122&RS=DN/20060071122
Well once I thought about an idea portal: People who had good ideas but no time/resources would post them and others who are willing to wok but don't have any bright ideas could use one from the database... It would work like a giant world brainstorm. If you wanna do it, i'm always looking for a partner!
Good idea Filippo.. I was thinking of something like that a few years back too. And maybe people could vote on ideas, comment on them, etc.. just one big opensource creativity db.
yeah thats the idea... Something like a "rep" system for idea posters too, there are many things you can do to make it more interesting..
Yep.. you just need a good name for the site and I'm sure it'll get going pretty quickly.. maybe even have something like Google Answers hehe.. you ask for an idea related to X and get an idea combining X and Y.. for a small fee.. Hmm what would someone's title be? Creative Contributor? hehe
Don't worry about coming up with an idea... the more you try to think of a good idea, the less chance you actually will IMO. I don't try to think of good ideas, and once in awhile I just wake up with one.
Good point Shawn.. you're absolutely right. Just got enough funds to launch a medium-sized project but the more I and my partner try to find something we can decide on, the more we fumble in the dark.. Maybe I should just take a vacation and let it come to me heh.
here you go bjraines... forbes have good places to start on ideas yet to be invented... http://www.forbes.com/forbes/2003/1027/127.html from the article: "Sometimes flipping things around provides a useful solution to a different problem. What we call symmetry takes an existing solution in a given context and turns it around to get a new perspective." you could also try: http://www.halfbakery.com for some interesting (if somewhat weird) ideas... to start your ball rolling although if it were 1899 you'd be in trouble... that's when the guy in charge of the Patents office said "Everything that can be invented has been invented". Since then there's over 3k patents granted every week in the US (oops!) remember this too: necessity is the mother of invention...
I thought about something among the lines of "Global Brainstorm" or something like that... Well I have to disagree, this thread got me thinking, and as I was taking a shower 10 mins ago I thought of something that could be GOLD! Lets see how it goes I'll post here if I can make it work...
i am down with collaborating with some people. i am up for anything really. its not even about money for me. i just really want a good cause. even around here in Macon, GA. i know a guy who is an awesome blacksmith, an inventor, me and a programmer and not a single one wants to take a chance. i just want to create and bounce ideas off of people.
OKay, maybe you could all get together and invent an online web program for blacksmiths? Actually, Shawn's suggestion is the most interesting. It sounds kind of flaky, but if you start writing down your dreams in the morning, you'll start remembering them more and more, and find your subconscious giving you hints. A couple of nights ago I had a dream about an idea for a new reality TV show, where ordinary people could come on and pitch their ideas for new reality TV shows; the best idea as voted on by a national phone-in wins an 8 episode run of their show...on the other hand, now it's written out in b & w it doesn't look so hot.
Do bungee jumping. Its good. Really good. You feel amazing when u are pulled back up and the feeling of being alive takes over you
