Maybe we'd be more inclined to do so if you told us a bit more about it first. Give us a nice story and perhaps some incentive to actually go and do it.
The Focus on OS is a good and relatively unique one. A good approach could be to offer your forum to support small OS software packages so they don't have to worry about hosting a support forum when they're busy enough coding already. That could get you a member base that can flow over in other areas of the forum. EDIT: Places like the official osCommerce forums have strict moderation which annoys many, you could benefit from such situations.
I was thinking into going with open source web design since I have quite a lot friends who are prepared to make free templates like you see them on now If I can attract visitors by offering really good and better open source templates as those on oswd.org it can be quite successful Then when people use them they come for help on my forum .... thats my dirty plan in short ...... Yeah, but I'm used to requirements such as having a minimum of 25 posts or reviewing 3 other sites first. Then again, there were no other sites to review
