I Need a CD-Recorder for a Non-Computer User

    Okay, since this is "general chat", I thought I'd throw this question to my fellow DP'ers and see if any of them has any clues.

    So, my dad is something of a music junkie, and he likes to make copies of his audio CDs for various locales. For instane, one copy for the house, one for his portable DVD player, one for his car, etc. So that means I generally have to burn him new copies about, oh, once or twice a week, which isn't really that time-consuming. What, 5 minutes each disc?

    So what I'd like to do is buy him a CD recorder so he can do it himself. My dad is one of those people who WANTS to do things for himself, but he's just super computer illiterate, and at his current age, he'd rather stab himself in the eye than learn to work a copy of Roxio.

    Having said that, is there such a thing as a non-computer CD recorder? He's perfectly fine with the DVD player, so something like that -- you know, stick your original in one slot, the CD-r in the other, and press "record". Like with VHS recording deck. Yeah, like a CD recording deck. He's good with electronics but TERRIBLE with computers. (I know, I can't figure it out, too.)

    Any thoughts, guys?

    If you're looking for computer software to do this, Blaze Media Pro has a feature to do that exactly (Copy Audio CD is the option to select from the Conversions menu). That feature of the software is very easy to use and works basically just like you said.

    www.blazemp.com if interested.

    Well it would be the better the option to buy your Blaze Media Pro software than having to spend more cash on the hardware.

    Roxio can be very complicated for someone who doesnt know about computers.

    Yes. NO computers involved. I just want a tape-deck-like system of original CD goes here, blank CDR goes here, press "record" -- VOILA!

    @turfsniffer,

    Great link, I'm looking over the selection now.
