I must have been click bombed!

I opened my account today, and to my surprise, had 10 times the normal clicks, but only 1.59 in revenue. Lets just say the clicks were well over 50. I checked my email, but nothing from google....whew. Should I be worried, because I don't want to get banned?

Email them saying you suspect you may have been click-bombed - better to be safe than sorry. If they email you first the consequences will be a lot worse.

That has happened to me before and I did email them. It was resolved and my click values are doing better now.

Mate it would be better if you told Google who clicked. Check your stats for someone with a lot of pageviews or some other suspicious behavior. Yesterday I had a couple new visitors and many clicks in a small time frame with a CTR of over 100 for that time frame so I emailed google with the IP's of the visitors from the suspected time.

That's the thing, none of my visitors according to statcounter had an unusual amount of pageviews.

Also my adsense impressions were not unusually high either?

Google already knows that some clicks were invalid probably, thus the low earnings you received. Still, emailing them about it is a good idea.

Think i figured it out, at about 3pm today, someone from here went back and forth from DP to my site several times. I have his IP address and will send to google.

By the way, the thread he came from was one I posted about being close to my goal! I have since removed my link from signiture forever.

Big misconception. Google are very understanding. Just say what you think to them. They will accept it. But also people need to know that click bombing someone is not a little thing, its a crime, and you can be prosecuted for it. It would be easy to prosecute aswell, thanks to IP's!!!

Also, I think I have it narrowed down to two users here, both posted around 3pm on that thread, and both are new users. I don't want to name names though, so I will let google handle it.

    lol why would you bother....

Google would accomodate that some people will click continuously without consent of the owner.

The keywords were "better safe than sorry" By emailing Google, it shows that you are a diligent site owner who is trying to stay on top of things. It may not help that much, but every little bit helps.

Good suggestion. OP...it may be coincidence, though...do you have any click tracking in place to CONFIRM that that IP is responsible for the clicks? You say "when you opened your account" What time was that compared to 3pm? Stats don't update real time (especially today, for some reason)

I never bother emailing them about click bombing. They're smart enough to work it out themselves and adjust the earnings accordingly, e-mailing them is just a waste of time which Google themselves have testified.

When did they say that? I know they said something about not having to inform them when you click one of your links by accident, but I've not seen anything from them saying not to report "click bombs"

matter of fact they have a special form to fill out and send if you have recieved invalid clicks, also your able to give log findings such as ip addresses.
