Hi, I think I may have acquired a previously banned domain in Google. I have linked to it from my PR6 and PR5 index pages and Google still haven't index it for 3 weeks now. I find it very strange, so I did a domain search in Google. Sure enough; it was a previously used domain that someone had just abandoned. I don’t know for sure if the domain I just acquired was banned in Google? Is that a way to find out? Let's just say if it was banned, what are my consequences? Will the links placed on this domain to the other sites be in danger? Will Google know that it has changed owners? Should I just simply abandon this domain altogether and look for another one? Any advice would be appreciated.
If you have a "real" site (i.e. unique content) and you like the domain, then file a reinclusion request and just state the facts. If your site is borderline and/or the domain doesn't mean that much to you, then probably easiest to just move on.
Last 2 months I have seen Google unbanning lots of domains, I think you won't have any problems to have it unbanned, just make a reinclusion request.
