I am not critizing him. I just didn't really get quite what the program is about as normally when you are making money from something you normally don't want others to do the same as it just generates you alot more competition. This is the case with alot of businesses/affiliate programs anyway.

Thanks for bolding that, my eyesight is pretty poor. I may have missed it.

As far as it being "no riskier" than any other site, simply is not true. Being "decently smart" is not enough to mitigate potential legal issues. However being methodical and educated may.

As you may well be aware, but others may not, there are specific regulation that you must abide by in order to keep yourself legal. These legal requirements are not trivial to comply with. As well the current US political climate has not exactly been friendly. With the current uncertain about how record keeping rules will be enforced it remains to be seen if it is "no riskier". However anyone decently smart would see that the uncertainty in law enforcement doesn't make a porn site no riskier than any other. Do you really know how strict Ashcroft Gonzales will be? No.

Instead of telling me to take a chill pill, you may rather want to inform people what the legal requirements are, hmm?

I have a couple of domains that I thought about converting into niche adult sites. But given the current political climate it seems wiser to wait.

So I'm trying to stay on what I hope is the "safe" side of erotic but not pornographic. (Porn isn't my thing anyway but the distinction isn't always easily made.)

Jimsmith what you say about adult sites being no risker is bull and alext is right there are regulations you need to keep to one main one being 2257 especially if you live in the US there are alot more regulations. Alot of adult sites are shut down not because they host underage porn but because they dont have the right documentation to prove what there hosting is not underage porn. Theres also much tougher laws on adult sites and its ALOT easier to end up in jail then it would be owning another niche. Btw i think joemcas tip was more of him looking for referals than actually offering help.

i get what you're saying dude,
but don't you feel there's too many hoops to jump through already?
Why wait until next year, when it's 10 times worse and you have to submit your request for a site like this to a judge for review, to show your disgust?

If you're from the USA or UK, think stamp tax....tea tax....... you get the picture.
