Repeat or no, there's a dozen people here that obviously haven't heard it so I think it serves a purpose. Not everyone has 1,7000+ posts and a complete overview of Adsense and website publishing as you seem to say you do, Mr. Banfield.

Well, everybody was noob when he/she started. These kinds of thread gave me inspiration and push to go further when I failed. And at the same time sharing is very satisfying because you know that you are spreading something good to help people. My main purpose of sharing this is to give back something back to DP from which I learnt a lot. I had adsense account for little over year and one fine day I accidently stumbled on this forum and realized the power of it. I was always laughing at internet advertising but then I started looking into it seriously. I am very well educated with great college degree which willl easily earn me upwards of 150k/year for rest of my life but hey there is no harm in spending few hours a week and see your bank balance growing. I love it. I get kick out of it.

My main job is something which I love but it does not provide as much fun as this one, so why not.

It is always better to inspire and at the same time learn while inspiring. From this thread I learnt lots of valuable lession mainly from sd2001 so there is no end to learning and no end to progress.

    just my thoughts...

There's nothing wrong with it, it's just a repeat of hundreds of other "motivational" threads

I would hardly call that "trashing a thread"

Ok, together with your first comment; just a mild trash.

for those who raise an eyebrow, I am not here to prove myself so please go and rest. I am here to share something which I felt was necessary for so many out there who yet to have taste sweet success with this wonderful field and I felt it was my duty to give back something to space from which I learnt so much in past few months. If you look at my record I hardly post here and maximum posts are related to this thread only. For all these time I was quietly reading and learning and applying it for real. So rather than questioning try to apply and implement and see for yourself. With right efforts and persistence you will not be disappointed.

    Good luck...

Posters who title threads "How I went from $X to $XXX in less than blah blah..." are doing so because they know they will get lots of views for their DP ads.

jamx03, congratulations on your success so far. Now that you have your techniques down though, I would suggest moving them off of free sites and investing in bulding an actual business out if it. You can't base your revenue off of blogger and google. Like someone else said you need to diversify. Buy 50 domains, a dedicated server, try other revenue streams like Yahoo, Adbrite etc. Reinvest 100% of your earnings so far. Until you do that, it's just kind of playing around. My 2 cents anyways :)

It's been super interesting reading this thread. I learned a lot and "opened my eye" in a good way.

Thanks for all those help and ideas.

There will always be someone new everyday just learing about adsense and how to make money with it.

I can tell you there were hundreds of people at my old job who never heard of google and don't understand that it is possible to make a good living off of the internet.

The other day I forgot where, a guy showed on a forum a $15,000 check for promoting a program for only a week or two.

    Beautiful!

Most of the posters that say that something "can't be done" are just screaming out because THEY can't do it.

    ::shurgs::

This type of thing isn't for everyone.

I agree. Some people just don't have what it takes to come up with new ideas in the internet biz. No worries though because there will always be places like this where you can take it at your own pace and have some fun with other people while doing it.

just for the record I am not getting anything from dp so far because I have not become member of his adsense affiliation program, so rest assured that I am not doing this for any free publicity or money. As you can see I have not posted any url of my site here which I personally think is safer strategy.

Jamx, thanks very much for this thread.

Perhaps it is 'just' motivational but hey who cares, I don't.

It has got me me thinking more about the importance of keywords, which I know in principle, but don't worry about so much in reality. Perhaps next time I'll remember this thread.

    Cheers
