Here is my first brush. It was made in Photoshop but should be able to be used in any photo editor that works with abr files. Since it is my first, I would be interested in getting any feedback. Actually, it's two brushes. I made them by scratch, taking a picture with a Nikon D3200 of the top and underneath of an old bottle cap. I'm happy with them but not thrilled. I'm using the standard camera lens right now, but just ordered a lens specifically for close-ups. Although I never made a brush, the thought just occurred to me that this image would make a fun Photoshop brush. So I tried it and here I am. Here's an image I just made from them. Of course, you can adjust the colors around as desired. I sized them at 2500x2500 but that can be adjusted as well. Here are the brush abr files: The top of the cap: https://www.adrive.com/public/5hSPXs/bottle top cap.abr The underneath of the cap: https://www.adrive.com/public/RvUuUg/bottle top underneath.abr You are free to use these as you wish, please post here whether they seem to be working fine. I'd be interested in your feedback. Making brushes looks pretty easy, but I want to make sure I didn't do anything wrong. Thank you!
hey i really like the idea, needed something like this for a project. but there is a problem with the files. getting this error hope you can fix it. i am using Adobe master collection CS6 when i encountered the problem.
Thanks for the feedback. I made it in Photoshop CS2. Maybe I can't make brushes in CS2 for people that have CS6? It would be interesting if anyone here knows if that might be the case. If you want to still use them, I do still have my PSD files. Here's one that has 4 bottle cap images that I used to make the brushes with. https://www.adrive.com/public/wCNnwa/four bottle caps.psd You could use them as is, or make brushes out of them.
Hey There Rebecca! I love these! I think they are great! Tried them out on Photoshop CS3 and they work beautifully! The images are nice and large, which is great for bigger pieces of artwork! Overall a really good job Rebecca! Well done!!!
Thank you, I'm happy you liked them! It was fun to make. A few days ago I ordered a micro lens and two lighting/stand/umbrellas so I can do better. I would like to do a lot more close-up photography. Looking forward to that! Anyway, have a great day.
Hello Rebecca, Just wanted to say, really love this brush! Great detail and it doubles up as a texture as well. If you use the larger size and stamp over an image, it creates a really cool distorted effect. Change the blending mode to multiply and it looks fantastic! I look forward to any other brushes you may make, please post if you do!
